Summer in Space

Brok was running. The girl had led him into the mystic forest again. It was a field occupied by giant dandelions and tall grass. It might as well as be a corn field without corn. A dandelion floret flew above him. Brok reached out for its rear end. He jumped and grabbed with his two hands. His hands were trembling when he looked down from the air. The girl was not far away, Brok swinged and kicked, trying to steer himself to the red dress.

The air smelled a mixture of sweet and syrupy scent. Brok gained some distance, but it was not enough. The girl travelled faster on ground than him on the sky. Brok climbed up the floret and twisted the head so as to create a slow and temporarily drop. His hands were still trembling when he hopped back to the ground. The floret, taken by the mild wind, returned to its journey.

Brok ran. His steps firm and rigid. He could hear his heart beating. Sweat ran down his neck. The sun beamed down on him. Not just him, but the whole field. The girl must have felt the same way and was slowing down. Brok was ten steps behind. He called out. His voice disappeared, and was replaced by air bubbles. His mouth was a bubble machine.

Then he saw the girl took a turn to the left. He followed. The trial soon ended and he came out to a field. There was a tree, a tree with steps and houses naturally formed by itself. The girl was inside one of those houses. Brok saw her beautiful blond hair swaying. He walked up the stairs.

The door, locked, hissed open. The room was empty. The door hissed closed.

Someone had lay their hands on his shoulders, shaking him.

Mila woke him. He rolled his eyes.

"How long?" said Brok, sitting up, staring at the icy metal floor. His heart was still racing.

"Two."

Brok swiped the only long hairs on his forehead aside, and rubbed his bald head and pulled his ears lightly.

"It's summer time back home," said Mila. Her face was pink.

Brok looked up. "We'll go back sometimes. Just not now, Mila."

"I know," she bit on her lower lips, "but father-"

"We've talked about this," said Brok. "Come here, I'm cold."

Mila sat on the bunk bed and hugged her father. Their breaths were warm. Space is cold. Summer in space is as cold as winter on Kolon.

Brok had only one daughter, and Mila was everything he had. Mila was twelve, Broke was thirty five. They called each other father and daughter. At least they wanted it to stay that way.

The cafeteria down the hallway was empty of the usual crowd when Brok had finished his sanitary duties. The chef munched his words and gave Brok and Mila their foods in a cold plate.

"Can we have something hot?" asked Brok, "for my daughter, at least?"

"No can't do. They have already shut off the power. You just have to eat what you have. If you want something hot, be early next time," said the chef.

They sat down on the corner, body touching each other and stuffed the foods into their stomach. Brok looked at his daughter and started sobbing. How did he came to become so poor that he could not feed his baby girl a hot meal.

There was only himself to blame.

Space Kissing

There was this woman, blond hair, cute face, really nice body. She came to the town about a month ago, and ever so often she would be sitting outside her house on a fancy fold chair with her sunglasses on. Nobody know who she was and where did she came from. Hell, nobody knew what she's called, until Little Johnny over there at the bar asked her frankly on her front porch.

She invited him to into her house and got him some chilling homemade lemonade. My mama said when I've found a girl who can make me a decent glass of lemonade, that girl would be my wife for the rest of my life. And now I've got Donna.

Anyway, she told Little Johnny that her name's Gauli Shedda. That must be some kind of chic language 'cause I've never heard a name so elegant in my entire life. And trust me, I've been living in this town long enough to know that the name's not from the surrounding county.

They then chatted a little, but Little Johnny didn't know what to talk about when he was alone with such a beautiful lady so he just ran off, with good manner of course. I saw him tumbled down the stairs when he came out of the door, saying excuse me all the same when he tasted grass in his mouth.

That's when I met her. I came to Little Johnny and got him up, her eyes was on me. Some kind of a wicked grin, like she enjoyed seeing what was before her.

A few days later when I walked into the same neighborhood, she had already set up a little tent on her lawn. At first I thought she was going to sleep outside but then I realized it wasn't when a guy from the town cross the river rolled out of her tent. He was holding her hands and they were both smiling. I knew there was something fishy going on, so I waited till the guy left, and went over to confront this women.

I know it sounds crazy but I actually accused her of running a whore business, and I deeply regret what I barked into her face. Thankfully the tradition to hang someone of wrongfully accusing others isn't around anymore, or I'd be dead by now.

She was a good mannered and well reasoned woman. She kept looking at me while I pointed my horrible fingers at her. Not until I've finished my speech did she took a hold of my wrist and dragged me into her tent. And my, did she have a strong arm.

She closed the tent behind us and I could see that it wasn't a tent we were in anymore. It was something else. It was dark, although the sun was beating on us just seconds ago. I could barely make out the silhouette of her body in there.

I remembered sweating a lot, and hearing nothing but the silence static ringing in my ears. I was petrified and couldn't escape.

Then the lights came on, and we were no longer in the tent. I reckon it's some kind of an empty space. I was bounded by nothing, we were swinging in the limitless horizon.

She took my hand and pulled me close to her and sucked the air out of me. Our lips stuck together, glued, inseparable.

And that's what I still remember. She's a really good kisser, I could tell you that. God, Donna's gonna kill me for telling you this.

Bee; or, Blue Was the Warmest Color

Excerpt From the Novel I Am Writing (DRAFT)
As the driver dropped her off on the entrance, a woman in a blue working coat, stitched with the words Royale Flight Engineer, approached her. Under the title, printed the name Beecay Ubmos.
She was smiling at Amanda, a bit affectionately, and extended her hand. “Hi, you must be the new commander. I am Beecay Ubmos, the flight engineer, but everyone here just call me Bee.”
"Hi, Bee, I am Amanda Ashford, but you call me Ada if you like," Amanda returned with a smile and held out her hand. Bee’s grip was firm but tender, her eyes were beaming passion, and her smile was full of fondness. Their hands mingled with each other for a very long time, and so did their eyes. Blue, crystal blue, blue like the coat Bee was wearing, blue like the eyes Bee was seeing. At that instant, blue was the warmest color.
Slowly, Bee’s thumb was rubbing, or more like touching, caressing the back of Amanda’s hand in a circular motion. And Amanda enjoyed it, she was giggling, and so was Bee.

Spaceport

Kefny oversaw the operation of the spaceport of Sodeo City, one of the major hub for the public galactical transportation.

Everyday, thousand upon thousand of spacecrafts flew in and out of the port smoothly with the assistance provided by the station’s system and the personels running the field. He himself would sat or pace around the control center and monitor the crew and staff at work, and maybe compose the daily report or talk to some pilots and captains that travelled far and long, as to lighten their weight and maybe crank up their smile.

Kefny was always on the verge of coming up with something very funny, and at times, he would make people laugh, but other times, not quite. His jokes were improvised, mostly based on the situation, and add-in with his personal experience.

Pilot Mordior called upon his service today.

“Kefny, my lad, how’re you today.”
“Good, good, how’re you?”
“Quite bored, in fact.”
“Why, the day’s just started.”
“Ah, you don’t know. My stomach have been playing naughty since last night.”
“Well, isn’t that unfortunate, mate. How’s Geodiny?”
“Hi,” said Geodiny as he poked his face into view, “Mordior had the best fart sound ever, I could vouched for that. The smell though, nah.”
“Sounded something like this?” Kefny pressed him fat lips against his meaty arms and blew heavily against the skin. The sound was tremendously loud.
“I wasn’t sure there could be a even more pleasant farting noise than Mordior’s,” said Geodiny.
“Ah, you lousy lad,” said Mordior, “We are getting off now, talk to you went we get back.”

And away they flew.

They were a lot of call going up to Kefny’s office, but none were of very much importance, except the one that ringed everyday at exactly 12 noon.

“This is Kefny, everything’s in order, ma’am.”
“...”
“Yes ma’am.”
“...”
“No problem, I will send the message as soon as it landed.”
“...”
“Sure, sure.”
“...”
“Okay, have a good day, ma’am.”

Docking Permission

The team stepped out of the airlock and was confronted by the gunman on the side. Commander Colson stood in the middle between them.

“Lieutenant, I am afraid I can’t let you and your squad aboard.” said the commander.

“What-”

“Listen to me. The captain and I had a chat before you came back and we have reached a conclusion that, your squad should not be granted aboard before we found out what happened on the other ship.”

“But-”

“Is for the whole crew, lieutenant.” and he walked away.

The squad looked lifeless through the decontamination room, Nolan kept hitting on the glass yelling for help.

“Get yourself together, Nolan.” The privates dragged him back and tried to comfort him.

Doctor Megan Louis walked down the hallway holding a report in her hand. It listed all the scanning result on the other ship, but nothing special turned up. She reached the airlock and called for Keen.

“How are you and your people holding up?” asked Megan.

“We are doing fine, but can you please tell me you’ve got something, anything that could let us out of here.”

“I-” She gave a disappointed look and they both fell into a silence.

“Whatever happened on that ship isn’t caused by any contagious stuff, right?”

“We haven’t ruled out that possibility yet. There were rumours that some kind of engineered bacteria could eat up human flesh and cleaned up the place, like really clean.”

“Do you think that’s what it is?” said Keen.

“I don’t know. I’ve never seen it before.”

“Are we dying?”

Megan turned back and suppressed her tear from running down.

“No, you are not dying, I won’t let you.” said Megan and she ran away.

In the Center Control, Captain Monokol had established the connection to a nearby Acting Galactic Government Patrol Fleet and through their official permission, contacted the Star Admiral Quentin Ocasso.

“Admiral, this is Captain Monokol from the Sixth Battalion. I have contacted you because our ship have came across a rather awkward situation.”

“What is it?”

“We may have found a lost ship that belonged to the missing Captain John Maison. And the whole crew went missing but the ships intact and clean.”

“John Maison. Are you sure it is his ship?”

“We have crew members searched the ship and found his personal effects. But admiral, I think we have also found out the reason why the entire crew went missing.”
“Go on.”

“We are still looking at other possible reason, and many speculated that the it was some kind of engineered human flesh eating bacteria.”

“Are you kidding me Captain Monokol, that was just some rumour from the street. If you have no more information on that ship, just sent me what you have to the relay, and excuse me, I have other matters to attend to.”

The connection ended abruptly.

Ghost Ship

As the team dug deep into the ship, they discovered the identity of the crew that was previously serving on this vessel.

Keen and Sealon searched around the captain’s quarter, and they found something worth reporting back to the mother ship.

“Commander, this is Sealon. Keen and I have been inside the captain’s quarter and found something that might interest you. The captain of this ship, was John Maison. He was a member of the higher council in the starfleet but went missing for years. I think that was like three or four years ago.”

“John Maison, I remember him, I knew him. We met at the academy, he was two grades higher than me, but he looked after me like he did to everyone else. Did you find anything that could explain this abandoned ship situation?”

“Sir,” Keen joined the conversation. “I don’t think this is an abandoned ship, nor were they kidnapped.”

“Then what is it?”

“Frankly, I think they simply vanished. I mean the jets are all intact and parked in the rear hatch, the interior is clean and organized. It doesn’t look like someone intruded the ship, or they were super clean at it.”

“But how could they simply vanished from the ship, it isn’t possible.”

“We are looking for clues, but currently, it’s still a big mystery.

In the crew quarters, the three of them were finding nothing but a pile of clothes and some stashed coins. Nolan came across a picture of a young lady pilot once but was seized by Bernard. They took anything that might be useful and proceed to the kitchen.

The foods were spoiled, even those that were kept in the refrigerator grew an ugly layer of bacteria. They did, however, found some kitchenware of use and packed them in a box.

They gathered at the command center again while Keen checked the system log.

“It has been running on itself for more than three years now, 1280 days to be exact, that matched the time when captain John Maison went missing. It’s related. We got to figure out how this happened, I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”

“But we saw nothing out of order throughout the ship. It’s clean, it’s running.” said Nolan.

“How would you explain this then, where are the crew of this ship?”

“Keen,” Sealon stepped up and pulled Keen backward. “Calm down, we will figure this out, but first we got to report back to the ship.” Sealon called back to their ship and they floated back once again.

Commander Colson was standing outside of the airlock when they came out.

Battle Station

“Battle Station, Battle Station. Priority One alert -” the voice of captain Monokol blasted from the central broadcast system to all part of the ship, and the red emergency lights were blinking.

The crews rushed back to their posts and received the updated situation report from their commander.

“We have just got visual confirmation on an unresponsive battleship, the initial system scan detected a fully functional engine, but the life scanner picked up nothing, not a breath,” commander Colson paused, “We are approaching the ship at half speed and lieutenant Keen will lead a squad of five to scout and secure the ship. We will use the heat signature detector as soon as we are in range.” Colson turned back and exchanged a few words with captain Monokol.

“Everyone, this is a simple and easy mission, but we should not let our guards down. The objective is to secure the ship and find out what happened. I doubt it is an abandoned ship, so stand your post, we are not taking any chance.” remarked captain Monokol.

Lieutenant Keen stepped forward and hand picked four squad mate to go along with him.

Private Bernard, Hillary and Vincent were chosen because of their own battle experience; Specialist Nolan was picked because of his scouting expertise; Lieutenant Sealon was assigned by the commander to assist and oversee the actions.

“Commander, we are closing in to the vessel, heat signature scanner indicator no life form aboard, sir.” reported specialist Lelia controlling the dashboard.

“Okay soldiers, it’s time to move in.” announced Colson.

Lieutenant Keen and his squad wore the combat suit and each equipped with an LP6 Laser pistol and a LR36 Laser Rifle. Specialist Nolan also carried a portable life signature scanner for closer inspection.

Their ship drifted five hundred meters next to the vessel, from there the team ejected from the air hatch and floated across the field of stars. They reached the rear entrance to the jet hatch and found those intact and accounted for, based on the slots painted on the deck.

They quickly divided into two groups, with the two lieutenants in each group. The scouting was smooth and quick and trouble-less. They regrouped at the command center and reported to Keen.

“East wing and North wing are clear, sir. Everything seems to be in order except no one is present.”

“West wing and South wing are also clear, sir. Nothing suspicious, no signs of struggle, no nothing. It was like the entire crew just, vanished.”

“Yes, we have noticed that, too.” said Keen as he triggered the intercomm. “Commander, the ship is clear, we are going to find anything useful and bring it back to the ship, but I think we need to further investigate this after our return.”

“As it should be, captain Keen. Return as soon as you and your team have the supply and we will discuss about the other matter when you return.”

The team split into two groups again and searched for supply that could be useful from the crew’s quarter and the gathering area, as well as the kitchen and the captain’s quarter.

Outpost

The landing of the transporter blew up the light blue sand from the surface, Karl and other guards jumped off with masks in full gears and ran toward the outpost - a camp the Acting Galactic Government set up for expedition and research purposes on this unnamed planet. The surrounding area was quiet and the temperature was close to the human body. The only visible object was another outpost in a distance, almost as far stretch as to the horizon.

Planet 9013, a medium asteroid class rock covered in light blue sand rumored to have a rich reserve of Orculium that could be extracted for mass fuel. Thus, the Acting Galactic Government sent out a team of researchers and built outpost on it for stay. Karl, and other guards were on a rotational duty between here and Planet 9015 every three Galactic Cycle. The work was dull but life was easy as the planet around this system had no living creatures.

The other night when Karl was off duty and at asleep, he started to dream about being in the front line of an epic ground battle. The visual was vivid and the motion was intense. He saw himself leading a team of elite soldiers and shoot down so many enemies that he begun to feel numb and sore. He rushed forward, ducked for cover, fired for suppression, yelled to command, signaled to regroup. The encounter gave him an adrenaline rush.

The battle was won.

Karl woke up in a bloody vision. He smelt of blood, tasted of blood, surround by blood. Blood everywhere. Bloody hand prints on the wall, bloody footprints on the floor, blood in his hand. Blood in his hand. Everywhere, blood.

He walked out of his cubicle quarter, into every room and the ground, everyone was shot dead. He called in for help.

Guards from the other outpost arrived, he was put into a cell block and later transferred back to a military prison on heavy chains.

People on Planet 9013 were afraid, they suspect Karl was contaminated or exposed to some kind of virus that turned him crazy. This wasn't the first time people gone out of their normal behavior in another planet but no one really knew what caused the issue.

Karl received medical treatment and psychiatric therapy, he was remarked as an intelligent person with extraordinary imagination.' Life in prison was boring but he managed to came up with exciting myths and tales to tell, the inmates were impressed by him.

When he talked about how he ended up in prison, almost everyone said they had the same experience. They thought it was all a dream.

Maybe they ate something, maybe they were exposed to something, maybe they were fed with something, maybe they were made for this thing.

Dr3am On.

Space Pirate [Part 4 of 4]

Jessie and James were en route to the rescue. They were merely three minute apart at the current speed. James shifted 'Unic0rn' twelve degree right and set up the shield, loaded the weapon. They were ready to fence off the pirate.

Ken was pushing the throttle hard while trying to dodge the pirate's bullet storm. 'Nex0n' swayed in the space hopelessly, waiting for rescue.

Alex sneaked around hoping to find his EMP without luck. He figured if he stayed any longer, the pirate might have a greater chance recognizing him. He had to leave it behind. He doubled back to his ship and initiated the starting sequence yet again.

As 'Unic0rn' and 'Nex0n' crossed path at the three minute window, Jessie already took down two of the pirate jet from a far using the tracking missile. The third one were supposed to be down too but for some reason it didn't.

Jessie flew past Ken and tried to gun down the last pirate jet.
"Damn, this is a slippery one." Jessie said.
"I hate the slippery one." James commented.
       "Exactly." Jessie grinned.
Jessie held tight on the control, each burst of bullet went right into the deep space, they were spinning and circling and trying to take out each other. From Ken's cockpit view, he only saw two jet flying in circle shooting at each other as if showing off their skills in piloting. It was more a showoff than showdown.

Alex ignited the Hawk and flew toward where the pirate jets went with the radar temporarily down. He was about thirty seconds away from the light show and identified the 'Unic0rn' immediately because of it's vibrant color on the hatch. He tried the comm.

Jessie lost her grip on the control while trying to follow the sudden jerk back of the enemy when she heard Alex's voice cracked from the comm, and the pirate ship seized the gap to fire at 'Unic0rn'. It was hit slightly in both the engine and the wing though the ship was still intact and under control. She executed series of evasive moves and fell back into the loop.

Alex got closer and tried the comm again. "Jessie, are you there?"
"Hey Alex, we are sure as hell glad to hear from you. I am busy shooting this old fox down, can you help?"
"Yeah, I need you to break away when I say the word okay? I will shoot it down for ya."

       "Break, Break, Break."
'Unic0rn' fell out of the ring and sped away, at the same time Alex fired rounds of bullet at the pirate ship and broke down the circus dance.
The damage caused an explosion and they thought it was over. Another explosion came and released a blue aura from the ship's wreckage and reached the Hawks.
"Oh no you don't." Jessie sighed.

The ship Alex just blew up carried the EMP from his Hawk, and by that they were immobilized in the pirate territory for exactly ten minutes.

Their ship drifted in the air. They saw each other through the cockpit window when they almost ran into a collision path.

SEE YOU SPACE PIRATE...

Space Pirate [Part 3 of 4]

Alex was asleep in a filthy room chained to a pillar by a rusty cuff when he heard the sound of an explosion, he saw the guards rushed out at once when the alarm went off.
He slowly crouched down and shifted his body so that he could grab the wire inside his belt. He had been carrying it for years in case of something like this happened. Swiftly he poked the wire into the lock with a few twists and released himself from the restraint. The door was unlocked. He kept his head low while running toward the landing pad where he and his ship were captured, hoping that he could return home safe. The alarm going back and forth in the corridor, Alex wondered maybe the pirate tried to fly his ship and mistakenly fired a missile at their own ship.
He hadn't met a soul during the escape, when he reached his destination, there was no guard either. He climbed back onto his ship and initiated the starting sequence. He checked the weapon system and found all were intact except the EMP. He restarted the scan and was given the same result. He rolled back to the weapon storage and found the slot supposed to be equipped with EMP was now empty.
       "Damn pirates." Alex cursed.

What he need to do before leaving was obvious --- find the missing EMP and bring it home.

Jumping down the ship, he was confronted with a pirate facing back to him. He sneaked up and took him down by suffocation before anything else. He dragged the guy into a vent after he wear the pirate's clothes.

He went with the blinking light and soon arrived at a Hangar full of pirates. Roaming around with a bunch of scumbag was not an easy task, though everyone ignored him as he walked by. Alex felt uncanny. He overheard people talking about a loose fish and a great salvage. He assumed the great salvage was the EMP, but what was with a loose fish, were they talking about him? He saw a crane arm floated in the space and the capital ship was moving around, did someone escaped?
Someone in front of the crowd spoke "Fellas, we will not let them get away, we will chase them down and crush them, right?" The guy pointed out at the empty space.
       "Yes, crush 'em!" Everyone shouted.
Three small jet ejected from the hangar bay as they chanted, Alex saw a small object not far away flying on the same path. Whoever they were, they were not going to make it out alive.

       Unless.

Space Pirate [Part 2 of 4]

Located on the edge of the galaxy, Faro is filled with a belt of space debris and enormous asteroids, which provided the perfect hideout for any criminal outlaws who enjoy privacy and liberty.

Jessie was roaming in her 'Unic0rn', Class A Hawk fighter jet, near Faro searching for the recently missing identical model. Reports indicated the aircraft last appeared on Faro and was likely to be captured by the pirate and possibly had already been salvaged into pieces as a warning for the Acting Galactic Government regarding the asteroid dusting project. She thought she should at least poke around before giving up the jet which sparked up an argument between her and the co-pilot.
"Just because central had lost connection with Alex doesn't mean he's captured." She said with frustration to James.
"But it's likely. Haven't you heard about what the pirates are capable of? They sunk ships. And jet won't drop the connection in this sector, right? At least we are still connected now." James said.
"Whatever, I am not giving up on Alex." Jessie said.
"Just be careful Jess, if they do have Alex, they might already have the EMP all figured out and I don't want to be any part of their experiment on our most advanced weapon."
"Don't worry, I will protect us, and Alex."
"I hope you know what you are doing, Jessie, I hope it will be worth the risk."
"What do you mean worth it? Saving Alex doesn't mean anything you? He's our friend, James, how could you say something like that."
"I just don't want us to be captured like Alex, that's all."
"Alex is not captured" Jessie shouted.
They both went silence when flying through pile and pile of scraps.

***

Ken kept tabs on the incoming pirate fighter jets while trying to broadcast a distress signal, hoping someone would be able to help or at least provide diversion. Some of the researchers walked up to the cockpit and asked what they could do to help.
"Just get back to your seat, I will handle this. Please, get back." Ken pushed them out and closed the door.
The beeping started and light blinked on the engine indicator showing a partial damage on the first generator.
Another spark of sound, someone was trying to connect.
"This is Jessie Pink, pilot of Class A Hawk. Are you all right? We have picked up your distress signal, is there anything we could do?"
"This is Ken Besin, I am transporting a team of researcher back to the Government Flag Ship on a Class B Tiger, but we are now under pursuit of three pirate fighter jets, we need immediate support and escort. Be aware, the Pirate Capital Ship have the salvaged EMP from your model, you should be clear of their effective range. Repeat, do not get close to the Capital Ship."
As Ken spoke 'EMP from your model', Jessie's heart skipped a beat. It was over, for Alex.

       Or was it?

Space Pirate [Part 1 of 4]

"We are breaking off, hang tight!" Ken yelled from the cockpit.
The aircraft blasted off from the landing port in a terrible tremble and snapped off the connecting crane arm. They had escaped but the hull took a massive damage that disabled both the shield and the secondary weapon system. Their breaches also triggered the alarm on the pirate ship, the red light kept blinking on the lower deck, indicating the alarm's origin for the pirates on site.
Ken tilted the ship nose up and flew away from the pirate base in maximum speed. The bulky pirate capital ship floated in the space, trying to drift around very slowly. Three small pirate fighter jet emerged from the left hangar of the mother ship and sped up in pursuit of the ship on the loose.
The paint on the ship read 'Nex0n'.

***

Ken was the pilot of 'Nex0n', a class B Tiger - small exploration ship modeled after the Class C Leopard with the same purpose. His primary objective was to navigate the ship and transport a team of researchers around the Faro - also known as the Far-off Sector for scientific exploration. With five years of flying in the open space, he is both a certified pilot for all ship class and is licensed to use Grade B weapon or below.
He had encountered the pirate before, they were a loose army fighting for resources and liberty with cunning tactics. He evaded them most of the time, trying not to provoke or fly into their ambush around the asteroid field. It worked before the Acting Galactic Government announced the project to manually 'push' the asteroids into a nearby deserted planet in the sector where the pirate was the most active as to create a new and safe route for Inter-station transportation. The pirate across the sector revolted and decided to take action by hijacking any non-pirate ship appeared on radar.

***

The pirate's capital ship was lurking around a huge rock when Ken was flying the vessel back to the Central Hub. By the time Ken spotted the enemy on the radar, the ship had already lose its power because of the electromagnetic pulse the pirate sent out.
A ship painted in the dirty pirate black with a crane arm on top flew by and clamped the Nex0n's wing and dragged it back to the pirate base.
The researchers on the ship were terrified about their capture. Some of them said the pirate would kill the weak and old, enslave the strong and young.
Ken remain seated, he looked to the side and saw the ship dragging them was a remote control prototype developed for space building, which mean the ship had an access point open for scan. He checked his mechanical watch bought as a gift by his father years ago when he was still a cadet. Almost ten minutes. The effect of the EMP would wear off in ten minutes if the pirate used the one they salvaged from the recently missing fighter jet Hawk. He had to take the chance.
Ken prepared for the system to go online while readying to interrupt the remote control frequency.
Exactly ten minutes later, the light and engine came back and Ken worked his way into the control port and gained access. He waited until the other ship kissed the landing pad and sent a command signal for the crane to lose its grip on Nex0n.
He didn't wait for the crane to complete the action and took off with a shout.
